Types of electromechanical locks

Self-locking electromechanical locks have an automatic closing, when the trigger is pressed the bolt is extracted, however, to open we will always need a handle to be able to remove the bolt.

The electropistons are high security electromechanical locks, this is due to their solid construction, they incorporate a very hard cylindrical bolt, therefore, they offer high resistance against attempts at vandalism, theft, etc... They are made up of two parts, the piston, which is usually installed in the door leaf, and the counterplate, is installed in the door frame and incorporates the magnet that causes the bolt to be extracted or inserted (either fail safe or fail secure).

Motorized locks are ideal for sensitive areas where security is essential. These types of locks are especially convenient to use. The opening is carried out through a low voltage micro motor, the latch is removed through the electrical signal, it also provides the convenience of opening using a key cylinder in case of emergency. When you close the door, the DORCAS motorized technology is activated automatically, without the need to use a key.

Sometimes it is not possible to install a mortise lock, with rim locks you will find the perfect solution to increase door security quickly and effectively. This type of lock adapts to any type of door; its installation is done on the inside, thus avoiding manipulation from the outside.

What is an electromechanical lock?

DORCAS electromechanical locks offer a high level of security and comfort, outdoing conventional mechanical systems in different characteristics.

They are installed in the door leaf unlike electric strikes, that are installed on the frame and they offer a long-lasting and low-maintenance performance.
